As we continue to grow rapidly, we are looking for a Chief of Staff to the CEO to help drive strategic alignment, operational excellence, and scalable processes across the organization.

About the Role

The Chief of Staff to the CEO will play a pivotal role in managing priorities, driving cross-functional initiatives, and serving as a critical thought partner to the senior leadership team. This high-impact position is ideal for a strategic thinker with a bias for action, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of what it takes to run a fast-paced, high-performing organization.

Overall, you will…

  • Act as a strategic thought partner and advisor to the CEO, driving clarity, focus, and execution across priorities.
  • Own and lead cross-functional initiatives critical to achieving company goals, ensuring alignment and follow-through.
  • Serve as the communication hub for the leadership team, keeping stakeholders informed of priorities, progress, and decisions.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop scalable solutions to enhance productivity and impact.
  • Prepare executive communications, including presentations, reports, and other materials for key meetings and events.
  • Manage the company’s operating cadence, including planning and facilitating leadership meetings, off-sites, and reviews.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CEO, spanning strategy, operations, and people management.
  • Represent the CEO in meetings or at events when necessary, acting as a trusted proxy.

Within 1 month, you will…

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s strategic priorities, organizational structure, and operating model.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Assume ownership of the executive calendar, leadership meeting agendas, and follow-up processes.
  • Assess current operational rhythms and identify immediate opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Deliver an action plan for the first 90 days to enhance organizational alignment and operational effectiveness.

Within 3 months, you will…

  • Develop and implement a streamlined process for tracking and communicating progress on strategic priorities.
  • Successfully execute a leadership team off-site, driving alignment on key initiatives for the next quarter.
  • Take ownership of a major cross-functional project, delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted partner and sounding board for the CEO and leadership team.
  • Build dashboards or reports to track and communicate progress on organizational KPIs.

Within 6 months, you will…

  • Lead the planning and execution of the company’s annual operating plan and goal-setting process.
  • Implement scalable processes to improve cross-functional collaboration and decision-making.
  • Serve as a trusted extension of the CEO, enabling them to focus on high-impact priorities while managing day-to-day operational demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement across operational rhythms, communication flows, and strategic execution.
  • Represent the CEO and the company externally, as needed, with confidence and impact.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, strategy consulting, or leadership role in a high-growth environment.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and drive action.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for executives.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Experience with strategic planning, operational excellence, or organizational design is a plus.
  • MBA or similar advanced degree is a bonus but not required.

Location & Compensation

This is a hybrid role, which is expected to be in our Rockville, Maryland office or Brooklyn, NY office 3-4 days each month.

  • Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience
